Michelin North America, Inc. is seeking a meticulous and business-savvy Commercial Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team at our Headquarters in Greenville, S.C. What You Will Do:
• Use business intelligence tools (Excel, Power BI, MicroStrategy) and data analytics to illustrate business insights that drive decisions for the Business Partner Controllers and Sales and Marketing teams. Includes enhancing current reports/tools and building new ones. Reports and analyses should provide information on all areas of the operating statements (Tires, Sales, Cost of Goods Sold, Logistics, Other Margin Items, Purchasing, and Management Result).
• Support the Business Partner Controllers in controlling and steering needs.
• Support Business Partner Controllers and Sales and Marketing teams in other ad hoc reporting needs which includes collaboration on business decisions and ensuring effective return on investment and profitability.
• Provide controlling and steering support for the Two Wheel business line which includes all areas of the operating statements.
• Deliver weekly and monthly reporting to finance, sales, and marketing audiences that explain financial variances.
• Perform financial forecasting activities for Two Wheel, Automotive Business to Consumer Global Brands, and Automotive Regional Brands. Take charge of forecasting Two Wheel Sales and Other Margin items. Assist in forecasting Automotive Business to Consumer Global Brands and Automotive Regional Brands Sales and Margin items. Lead forecasting for other margin expenses in referenced business divisions. Activities include building and describing data analyses on all needed financial indicators to support the Business Partner Controllers in the forecast build.
• Ensure that Two Wheel Revenue accruals are in line with contractual obligations and in line with actual/forecasted spending throughout the year. Support the Assistant Controller - B2C (Business to Consumer) in ensuring that Automotive Regional Brands accruals are correct.
• Prepare the monthly results presentation for the North American Leadership Team. Use communication and storytelling skills to present monthly results to Business Partner Controllers, Regional Business Partner Controllers, and North American Chief Financial Officer for Automotive Regional Brands and Two Wheel business divisions with key insights on business drivers. Present monthly results to the Two Wheel Business Line located in France.
• Collaborate with Accounting teams on accrual items, Other Margin Items, etc. ensuring accounting guidelines are following and transactions are properly accounted.
• Collaborate with other Assistant Controllers on finding opportunities for automation, enhancement, or improvement.
• Develop competence in business and commercial operations, using knowledge to provide recommendations and make decisions on various business matters and investments.
What You Will Bring:
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Strong business insight, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work independently.
• Proficient analytical skills and a problem-solving attitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights and tell a compelling story using data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.
• 3–5 years of business experience, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis preferred.
• Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
