THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an immediate opening in Greenville, South Carolina for a Curing Quality Technician who will be responsible to ensure the protection of our Customer by focusing on daily tasks and long term planning that drive progress of Our Quality Performance by respecting our established Quality Standards and creating new standards along the way.

Located in Spartanburg, our plant has been part of the community for over 40 years. Spartanburg offers a great mix of city and country life, with its walkable downtown area and great places to eat. It is located near Greenville, which also offers great living amenities and an international airport. Our facility is home to the X ONE long haul truck tire. We also build heavy duty truck, military, and other large truck tires for our customers.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Ensure that delivered products are compliant with quality planning models and are manufactured in compliance with obtention standards.
  • Meet the quality and productivity performance goals defined by the shop using “Right the first time” principles.
  • Demonstrate the effectiveness of implemented actions.
  • Contribute to the definition and completion of the quality obtention section of the progress plan.
  • Mentor operators (including the quality correspondents) to improve application of manufacturing standards and reaction in the event of deviation; in particular, developing our Quality Manufacturing Professionals.
  • Follow up on process performance in terms of capability and productivity taking part in ensuring permanent improvements are made.
  • Participate in quality planning for products, materials, processes, and methods.
  • Provide feedback on compliance and standards to management.
  • Develop guidelines and standards for operators.
  • Identify critical connections and patterns in information / data.
  • Draw logical conclusions based on in depth analysis of information
  • Recognize causes and consequences of actions and events that are not likely apparent.
  • Anticipate obstacles considering next steps.
  • Persuade by appealing to reason using data, facts and examples.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Material Science Engineering with Manufacturing Experience is desired.
  • 1-3 Co-op/Intern rotations preferred, but not necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and process/product relationship knowledge.
  • Demonstrated organization and analytical skills at a level that shows creativity
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
  • Computer skills: MS Excel including Michelin Pi DataLink, MS Word and working knowledge of Saufi & OSCAR are a plus.
  • Familiarity with quality protocols and understanding of ISO requirements is preferred.
  • Attention to detail, data accuracy.
  • Knowledge of the quality planning process with the ability to participate in progress planning, using benchmarks, and other pertinent information. 
  • Demonstrated ability to use data for resolving special cause problems by identifying the product process interactions influencing results. 
  • Willingness to respond to calls and otherwise assist the plant with managing through issues that occur outside of normal working hours. 
  • Willingness to lead projects around improving current processes.
  • Must be willing to lead cross-functional teams to address any day to day issues as needed.
