LOCATIONS: EMPORIA

As an Industrial Engineer, you will lead and run continuous improvement in productivity and cost reduction projects in areas that range from specific work posts to corporate systems.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply Industrial Engineering techniques and lean concepts with the intent of improving process flows, reducing operational expenses, and improving productivity
  • Analyze and challenge existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facilities, making recommendations, and working with the operational management to integrate solutions
  • Provides guidance and support to operational management by identifying progress opportunities and helping to lead the annual plan and progress plan.
  • Develop, implement and improve manufacturing processes, tools, equipment and work activities, to meet and exceed the company's safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives
  • Supply information to the progress network by sharing best practices
  • Additional responsibilities include productivity planning, machine capacity analysis, process effectiveness analysis, project management, material flow analysis, developing and maintaining engineered time standards, and value stream mapping.

 

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Implement progress initiatives to improve entity’s performance
  • IE Basics are in place and maintained
  • Activity / time records are updated, and activity follow-up tools are in place.
  • Necessary headcount / machine calculations are performed, and capacities are under control
  • Contribute to the progress network by sharing best practices.
  • Manage change effectively: the key change players are on board and committed to implementing progress initiatives.
  • Develop operational teams' long-term autonomy in order to manage progress initiatives.

 

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required
  • 3 - 5 years of industrial or manufacturing related engineering experience required. Equivalent internship or co-op experience is acceptable.
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high team engagement and ability to collaborate with people of differing personalities
  • Strong Excel Knowledge – VLOOKUP, pivot table and SQL query skills required
  • Ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision.  Validated collaboration, interpersonal and planning skills.
