Michelin Lifestyle is looking for a Senior Event Manager to assist the Event Director in driving the growth and execution of the Michelin Guide and Robert Parker Wine Advocate events across East Asia. This senior role isn’t just about overseeing events – it’s about making critical decisions, guiding team members, and setting a high standard for excellence. It requires a strategic and results-driven candidate with a strong eye for detail, from conception to successful completion.

What are your key responsibilities in this role?

Strategic Event Leadership and Vision:

  • Design and oversee the delivery of high-impact event concepts, ensuring alignment with Michelin’s premium standards and brand objectives.

  • Develop and execute event strategies and timelines, coordinating seamlessly from planning through to final reporting.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and to capture goals and translate them into impactful event experiences.

Decision-Making and Problem Solving:

  • Take a proactive role in managing budgets, negotiating contracts & partnerships, and securing competitive vendor services.

  • Serve as a key decision-maker in complex situations, ensuring prompt, solutions-oriented responses to maintain event integrity and align with financial goals.

  • Provide real-time problem-solving and guidance, inspiring a cohesive and efficient team approach.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build trusted relationships with internal and external and stakeholders, serving as a main point of contact and ensuring transparent & proactive communication.

  • Ensure stakeholders satisfaction by addressing challenges quickly and delivering events that consistently exceed expectations.

  • Guide team members in partners interactions, promoting professionalism and clear communication.

On-Site Leadership and Quality Control:

  • Supervise on-site operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.

  •   Take charge of quality control and operational excellence, advising team members in executing Michelin’s standards.

Continuous Improvement and Post-Event Reporting:

  • Lead post-event debriefs to gather feedback, driving continuous improvements in process and execution.

  • Present detailed event reports, including financial summaries and strategic recommendations for future events.

Who do we look for?

  •   Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years  in senior event/project management roles, with a proven track record in decision-making and team leadership.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-project workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and align team efforts within a multicultural environment.

  • Proficient in budget management and vendor relations, with a strategic approach to project management.

  • Solution-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Humbleness & resilience 

  • Fluency in English; additional language skills, especially in Japanese , are an advantage.

  • Flexibility to travel internationally and work outside typical hours, as required by event schedules.
