THIS OPEN POSITION IS LOCATED ONLY AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS: EMPORIA, KS

Overview:

Initially this role will split time between our existing Re-Manufacturing Plant in Emporia Kansas, and our new facility referred to as our Overlander site (also in Emporia, KS), with a focus on process management at the former and mechanical advising at the latter.

At the existing 25 person facility this role will create and refine process documentation. Support of the new site will include project management for setting up new machines and processes. The Overlander project involves a $37 million expansion to modernize production, introducing state-of-the-art fully automated machinery. The Process Engineer will be the sole engineer on-site so will need to be confident in working autonomously, and will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement progress initiatives to enhance entity performance.
  • Ensure the fundamentals of Industrial Engineering (IE) are established and maintained.
  • Conduct necessary headcount/machine calculations and manage capacities effectively.
  • Share best practices within the progress network to contribute to overall improvement.
  • Manage change effectively, ensuring key stakeholders are engaged and committed.
  • Foster long-term autonomy within operational teams to manage progress initiatives independently.
  • Support and expedite progress initiatives using Michelin Way tools, methods, and approach.
  • Facilitate long-term autonomy within operational teams by ensuring their acceptance of change.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience required
  • Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing, including setting up production cells, market sizing, and cycle time analysis.
  • Proficiency in Lean Methodologies and root cause analysis.
  • Background in machine shop operations, aircraft, or industrial machining preferred.
