KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Contribute to the progress of the daily plant results by Driving Plant Performance
  • Maintain a SAFE workplace and operate each shift in an Environmentally Responsible manner
  • Ensure that all employees (salary, hourly or contractors) adhere to all company policies and procedures particularly but not limited to Safety compliance
  • Lead objectives to develop employees to succeed in professional and personal responsibility for decision making at the right levels

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

  • The plant achieves expected operational results and expectations.  Maintain an understanding of the status of these expectations at all times.
  • Performs initial incident investigations and becomes Incident Commander during all process, medical, environmental or other emergency situations.
  • Employees are effectively coached, disciplined or referred to appropriated management for violations of policy, procedures, behaviors  or performance deficiencies
  • Employees on shift are developed to make responsible business decisions with leadership support from the Superintendent

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

  • Responsible as the Senior Management Leader on-site for the plant on off-shift schedules in which all plant personnel report to them during those periods
  • Represents the plant as the Incident Commander in emergency situation including but not limited to:Safety, Environmental, Security, Medical emergencies or catastrophic incidents until properly relieved
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Environmental reporting is accomplished when necessary and is the primary initial contact during emergency situations with outside agencies until properly relieved
  • Accountable for Shift Safety, Delivery, Quality and Economic Results
  • Foster and maintain an environment of Team-work across the shift and between all departments and management levels
  • Execute operational instructions from the Business Unit Leaders and reconcile conflicts with resource allocations to accomplish expectations
  • Support the MDP (Managing Daily Performance) ambitions of the all the Business Units and participate in the MMW (Michelin Manufacturing Way) objectives.
  • Maintain Plant housekeeping Zones and ensure Standards are maintained according to those identified by the Business Unit Leaders throughout the Plant.
  • Responsible for shift: staffing, recording of training hours, approval of operational overtime, resources allocation
  • Allocate resources during shift – operational or mechanical – to achieve SMQDC goals and objectives as necessary
  • Work with Lead Operators, Solution Techs and other operational and maintenance leadership on shift to maintain clear communications and alignment of Operational and Maintenance plans
  • Will be responsible for maintaining a professional/mature workforce, and if necessary providing coaching or disciplinary action and documenting employee positive and negative employee behaviors.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with Finishing Process Equipment Manager, Solution Process Equipment Manager and Maintenance BULs to ensure equipment is prepared for PMs or maintenance interventions as scheduled.
  • Effectively and Safely coordinate resources for supporting projects, troubleshooting process and equipment issues in support of engineering or the technical teams
  • Take part in the preparation of the future, looking for progress paths (personnel, flow, etc.) and maintain a progress dynamic in the Crew.
  • Establish a stable production flow while ensuring customer protection and involve the Crew in the identification of solutions.
  • Manage the people in the Crew in a consistent manner.
  • Apply the fundamentals: maintenance, quality, industrial engineering and costs. Ensure 100% Health and Safety and make responsible all the actors.
  • Integrate new hires and support their training (VQ). Ensure a productive working atmosphere, and genuine cooperation between teams.
  • Contribute to the qualification of the delivery spokes and provide feedback to the BUL on operator performance.
  • Support the Activities and Business Units orientations.
  • Develop the responsibility of the teams by the application of the MQP/OR roadmap.
  • The above is not an all-inclusive list of activities; therefore, other activities and responsibilities will be necessary to accomplish the mission of the position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Personally be able to project and maintain Professional Business Behaviors and set an example to the Team, superiors, subordinates and visitors to the plant.
  • Ability to marshal and coordinate resources (crafts, USW or contractors) and reconcile conflicts between the Business Units need for assistance.
  • Be proficient in the use of e-tools necessary to accomplish necessary tasks to include but not limited to: Payroll systems, Maintenance Work order Systems, Purchasing and Procurement Software etc.) 
  • Serve as the Plant Incident Commander in all emergency situations
  • Physically able to climb stairs, climb ladders and access process areas within the plant for trouble-shooting, audit or inspections.
  • Be able to work a rotating shift schedule
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a dynamic environment and make decisions with limited information while maintaining a calming presence.
  • Associates/Bachelors degree or equivalent Industrial experience required
