WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build and lead employee education programs that help individuals understand the musculoskeletal risks are present in the workplace
  • Provide details on how employees may reduce the amount of physical stress endured on the job
  • Identify techniques that may be implemented in order to reduce or eliminate the overall risks that may be present
  • Develop warm-up and stretching exercise programs by position type that help to target the muscles that the employees will use throughout the day
  • Perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE); detailed evaluation on an employee to determine their strength, positional tolerance, endurance level, and the overall demand of the workload.
  • Assist the Plant Environmental/Safety Manager in handling ergonomics on the site and be the Ergonomist technical reference for the site.
  • Ensure the site has relevant and comprehensive ergonomic risk analyzes and that action plans are defined.
  • Contribute to the context of design projects, technical transformations of equipment or organizational changes in jobs.
  • Ensure good practices are shared across the site and across the Michelin network.
  • Serve as leader for site events: steering committees, progress events, training.
  • Ensures completion and coherency of the results of ergo analyses for the site.
  • Provide needed knowledge in their domain to develop a sustainable ergonomics culture
  • Assist with the facilitation of solution development events (e.g., kaizen events, or “Ergo Blitzes”) for the facility in the search for and evaluation of solutions
  • Review health, safety, accident, or worker compensation records to evaluate safety program effectiveness or to identify jobs with high incidents of injury.
  • Work with teammates to complete/close out corrective actions in a timely well-defined manner.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Bachelor’s degree or 2-5 years’ experience with Ergonomics and / or experience as an Environmental / Safety Professional in a manufacturing environment preferred.

-       Ability to communicate to all levels of the Company.

·       Proficient digital literacy; all Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

·       Investigative mentality.

·       Experience in conducting ergonomic assessments and developing and implementing ergonomic programs.

·       Knowledge of the human anatomy and physiology as they relate to ergonomics in the workplace.

·       Problem-solving and Analytical skills to identify and address ergonomic issues.

·       Knowledge of relevant software and tools for conducting ergonomic assessments and analysis.

·       Familiarity with ergonomic regulations and guidelines, such as OSHA’s Ergonomics Program management guidelines.
