Michelin Manufacturing Scholars was established as a partnership between Anderson, South Carolina and Tri-County Technical College in 2017. The program was adopted by our Spartanburg facility, in collaboration with Spartanburg Community College in the spring of 2018.
The Manufacturing Scholars program is intended to give candidates with no manufacturing background a means to move into that environment. The factory/school partnership provides candidates with both hands-on manufacturing experience and enrollment in a manufacturing certificate program that provides credentials which could be important to any manufacturing employer.
10 weeks long
30 hours per week at the facility
9 hours per week at school
During their time within the facility, candidates work side by side with current employees and contribute to the success of our plant. By doing so, the candidate receives the best view of manufacturing we can provide to allow them to understand and experience working in a Michelin team.
WHAT DO WE WANT TO BRING YOU?
Training on the culture, processes and values of manufacturing with Michelin while learning at Tri-County or Spartanburg Community College.
Paid work-based learning at Michelin.
Full Michelin scholarship that covers tuition, fees and books.
Credit hours that, upon successful completion, lead to a Manufacturing Operators Certificate.
Manufacturing Operators I Certificate from Tri-County and Spartanburg Community College.
A potential offer of full-time employment as a Manufacturing Professional (MP) at Michelin, provided that the work program and school program are completed successfully.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please go to www.sccsc.edu/michelin and complete the interest form for Spartanburg county and www.tctc.edu/michelin for Anderson county.
