Mission:

As an Automation / Electrical Engineer (Pipeline) at Michelin in Greenville, you will play a pivotal role in composing and implementing world-class equipment that meets the highest standards of product and industrial performance.

In this role, you will manage the build process, ensuring adherence to guidelines, internal and external standards, and quality systems. You will collaborate with various teams to pilot the realization, installation, and commissioning of innovative equipment, reaching the industrial robustness achievement (P3) for prototypes. For equipment deployment, you will lead preliminary projects, pilot deployment studies, and actively participate in the realization, installation, and commissioning phases.

Key encouraged achievements

  • Conduct pre-studies to determine the most efficient solutions.
  • Capture internal requirements and establish detailed specification documents.
  • Implement group quality systems and methods, including risk analyses, FMEA, build reviews, quality planning, and technical documentation.
  • Perform feasibility studies with validated specifications, evaluating solutions based on costs, deadlines, risks, and functional criteria.
  • Complete and monitor action plans for risk management, including calculations, simulations, and tests.
  • Build feasibility solutions in cooperation with other business lines.
  • Achieve validations for Installation Conformity and Functional Reception after realization, installation, start-up, and development phases.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for OTG-OTS availability, evolution requests, nonconformities, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrate homologation, qualification, and industrial robustness of equipment.
  • Process Intellectual Property (IP) and file necessary patents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Preferred 2-5 years of experience in a similar role or 5-7 years in Manufacturing Maintenance
  • Proficiency in PLC programming across all Rockwell platforms and ability to program communications between PLC platforms and Level 2 computer systems (Siemens knowledge is a plus)
  • Outstanding technical expertise in electrical components such as sensors, controls (PLC), motors, drives, HMI operator interfaces, and power distribution
  • Proven project management capabilities
  • Strong ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously with critical attention to detail
  • Great teammate with a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
