Mission:
Michelin Vietnam's B2B salesforce is small. Vietnam has roughly 20,000 fleet companies with revenue above $1M, we serve a handful of them today. With limited feet on the ground, every visit has to land on a fleet we already know is a fit. Today we have leads from several sources, but no reliable way to tell which of them are worth pursuing.
Your job is to fix that upstream. You will scan the Vietnamese market across Truck, Bus, CLT Van (e.g. Ford Transit, Hyundai Solati) and Material Handling; classify fleets using Michelin's One B2B Segmentation; enrich them with the signals that actually predict conversion; and quantify the size of each opportunity. Your output is a prioritized, decision-ready fleet database that our Business Development Managers convert from.
This is a commercial intelligence role with a three-month duration offering a real exposure to senior Sales, Marketing and Business Development stakeholders, and to regional practice across Southeast Asia.
What Success Looks Like
By the end of three months you will have delivered:
- A “golden list” of approximately 50–100 deeply-enriched priority fleets. Depth matters more than breadth , a shallow list of 500 is worth less than 50 we can act on.
- Every fleet classified via One B2B Segmentation, concentrated on the segments where Michelin has the right to win: Green Conscious, Pragmatic Quality and Tech-Oriented.
- Each opportunity quantified (fleet size × tyre potential). Quantified and sizeable = BDM-ready : that is the bar.
- A reusable heuristic scorecard and a field-tested qualification question set that outlive the internship.
Key indicators: number of quantified, sizeable BDM-ready opportunities generated; A-tier acceptance rate when validated by Account Managers and BDMs; total opportunity sized in the golden list.
Key Responsibilities
- Map the Vietnam commercial vehicle landscape :Truck, Bus, CLT Van and Material Handling and the fleets that operate them.
- Benchmark Thailand to identify which fleet traits predict premium-tyre adoption, and rate each predictor for how well it transfers to Vietnam.
- Find fleets and reach their decision-makers through creative sourcing: industry and transport associations, LinkedIn, ports and depots, VeXeRe, trade events, business registries, and Michelin's own service touchpoints.
- Run fast, structured qualification conversations to place a fleet provisionally before investing in full enrichment — test, learn, and refine the questions as you go.
- Apply Michelin's One B2B Segmentation (via Segmentor Pro) to classify each fleet. Note: the framework already exists — your work is to apply it rigorously and build conversion heuristics on top of it.
- Enrich each fleet with the signals that predict conversion: cargo and end-customer profile, haul type, who controls the tyre specification, cost-per-km mindset, sustainability pressure, current tyre brand and tier, digitalisation, and trigger events.
- Quantify and prioritise each opportunity; flag the ones that clear the BDM-ready bar.
- Build the database to the Salesforce / Segmentor Pro schema so it can be ingested and maintained — not orphaned in a spreadsheet.
- Validate your priority fleets with Account Managers and Business Development Managers, and refine your scoring based on what they tell you.
- Hand over a documented, maintainable asset and present your findings and method to B2B leadership.
Scope note: you will not own conversion that is the Business Development Manager's job. You own the quality, the sizing and the readiness of what they receive.
What You'll Learn
- B2B commercial strategy and value-based selling inside a global brand
- How a segmentation framework is applied in the field, not just on a slide
- Primary market research and outreach to senior commercial decision-makers
- Opportunity sizing, lead qualification and prioritisation
- Regional benchmarking across Southeast Asia (Vietnam / Thailand)
- Working with CRM data structures (Salesforce) and commercial dashboards
- Cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Business Development
- Presenting to senior commercial leadership
What we are looking for:
- Final-year undergraduate in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
- Comfortable approaching strangers. This role involves cold outreach to fleet owners, CEOs, fleet managers and procurement heads. You should find that energising rather than draining.
- Structured judgement under ambiguity. Much of the data will be incomplete or unavailable. You will need to make defensible calls and state your assumptions, rather than wait for perfect information.
- Resilience and self-direction. Most leads will go nowhere. The value is in the few that don't.
- Strong Excel skills and confident with PowerPoint; comfortable working with large, messy datasets.
- Working proficiency in Vietnamese is strongly preferred, given the outreach to Vietnamese fleet operators. Candidates without Vietnamese will be paired with an Account Manager for field contact please confirm which model applies before posting.
- Business-level English.
- Experience with CRM tools or business intelligence platforms is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Primary and field research; cold outreach
- Data structuring, validation and enrichment
- Commercial and opportunity sizing
- Hypothesis-driven critical thinking
- Project self-management
- Vietnamese and English communication
