The Controller guarantees achievement of the Peosta Facility’s economic objectives by focusing on and monitoring the economic and financial aspects of strategic and operational decisions and by ensuring compliance with standards.  They will guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures and also conduct audits, providing information to external auditors. They are a member of the Plant Staff Management Team. 


Responsibilities:

  • Identify the main drivers of value creation of the business
  • Participate in defining middle and long term vision, and developing progress targets and the investment project portfolio. Analyze and monitor projects and progress initiatives with respect to cost, timing, and scope. Supervise corrective actions with the management team.
  • As a member of the management team, assures respect for Cost Best Practices.
  • Guarantee the quality of economic data and indicators, respect for financial standards, and the quality of the internal control system. Ensures implementation of corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Drive standardization while respecting established means of CESP financial support services for steering. Supports and promotes the CESP.
  • Monthly Reporting 
    • Close Month-end and provide accurate and complete financial reporting using business driven variance explanations. 
  • Planning Process 
    • Prepare monthly forecasts for sales, capital expenditures, cost reduction programs, inventory, and profit and loss statements. 
    • Prepare the strategic plan and budget  
  • Costing 
    • Maintain standard costs, including monthly updates and variance reconciliations. 
  • Project Evaluation and Analysis 
    • Review and approve capital expenditure requests and related business cases 
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives 
    • Assess profitability and provide related recommendations   
  • Compliance and Internal Controls 
    • Coordinate with external auditors 
    • Apply Internal controls 
    • Ensure segregation of duties are followed 

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Accounting/Finance preferred or related field or equivalent education/training
  • Knowledge and experience relating to the business activity
  • Demonstrated ability in one or more of the following areas:
    • Information Systems
    • Plant manufacturing process
    • IE
    • Internal Audit
    • Finance
    • Purchasing
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to empower and influence others in a positive manner
  • Strong, demonstrated Digital Literacy (Microsoft Applications)
  • Good Organizational and Administrative Skills
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization, internally and externally
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
