The Information Technology Infrastructure and Continuous Improvement Project Manager (Accelerated Development Program) is responsible for a variety of projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the Network, End User Experience, and Datacenter and Application Platform Service Lines within Michelin. The candidate will be responsible for delivering the projects on time and within budget in addition to leading the project teams and ensuring communication is flowing appropriately to all partners and collaborators.

Project Management:

This role will manage the execution of the project by identifying project deliverables, coordinating work across multiple teams and IT suppliers, developing budget and cost plans, identifying risks and issues and will successfully monitor project progress using appropriate methods and metrics to ensure schedules, budgets, and goals are met. This role requires knowledge and practice of project management policies, methods, and procedures as defined in the PMBOK and the ability to understand infrastructure technology to successfully engage with Architects and Subject Matter Experts. Successful candidates should be able to work autonomously and demonstrate solid skills in leadership, communication, organization, conflict management, and independent judgment to select proper courses of action.

Furthermore, this position will be a part of an accelerated development program designed to rapidly provide this Leader with diverse challenges and experiences. After initial assignment as the Sr IT Infrastructure and Continuous Improvement Project Manager, we would anticipate you to progress within the Michelin Information Technology organizations on the path to Senior level positions within the company.

Continuous Improvement:

This role is responsible for defining and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all infrastructure teams. It will foster a culture and mindset of ongoing enhancement, and will plan, test, and implement strategies aimed at reducing waste, boosting productivity, and increasing employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the project scope, timeline, and budget; typically coordinates 2 – 5 projects at a time across multiple teams and IT suppliers
  • Analyze and schedule the Changes associated with the project implementations, including monthly re-forecast of project budget
  • Coordinate and facilitate all project related meetings (steering committees, project teams, etc.)
  • Ensure a smooth turnover / transition to production (update Service Desk knowledge articles, have appropriate project documentation for BAU, ensure proactive monitoring in place, etc.)
  • Facilitate lessons learned after each project launch
  • Build a prioritized portfolio of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work with teams towards the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, tracking progress and helping to remove roadblocks
  • Track performance metrics, assess the impact of changes, and adjust strategies accordingly

  • Ability to communicate effectively, gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, build consensus, and suggest / negotiate solutions and alternatives.

Requirements

  • BS degree, minimum 5 years of Project Management experience (PM or LEAN certification helpful). An MBA is preferred.
  • Experience working across multiple geographical zones, including management of dispersed teams and large projects
  • Exposure to network equipment, datacenters. Experience in technology infrastructure & IT Technical skills
  • Superb communication skills with various levels of the organization, including C-Suite.
  • Natural leadership abilities, curiosity and the ability to influence outside your normal sphere
  • Waterfall methodology with awareness of PMP, Agile, and other Project Management Best Practices
  • Tools: MS Project, Clarity, ServiceNow & Excel familiarity; O365 for teamwork.
  • Detailed knowledge of Project Management principles, concepts, and practices
  • Be geographically mobile for international assignments within Group Michelin
