MISSION:
The Maintenance / Reliability Supervisor is responsible for mobilizing the Maintenance Department team members to deliver services related to mechanical and electrical maintenance of the machinery, tooling, and general building maintenance for the site. Specifically, for all production shifts, directs the response to breakdowns, ensures the PM and/or Preventative / Predictive maintenance plan is performed, and carries out change overs, while minimizing down time. This will require planning and scheduling Maintenance Department team members for all production shifts.
KEY EXPECTATIONS:
- Establish priorities and effectively manage team’s time to complete duties/projects within required time.
- Coordinate activities in mechanical and electrical maintenance, planning and scheduling, buildings, and safety.
- Develop and implement appropriate predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance processes to achieve optimal, measurable results. Minimize downtime. Utilize effective current programs and adopt Michelin methods wherever possible.
- Direct repairs of defective equipment according to priorities set by production, Maintenance Manager, and other factory needs.
- Assist with implementing plant improvements and expansions.
- Develops, implements, and holds sector accountable to an escalation plan for EDT / change over times. Is the focal point for extended down time event resolution across the entire service sector and all production shifts.
- Perform human resource functions, including employee evaluation, coaching, training, and employee relations. Set clear goals and standards for performance and hold assigned personnel accountable to achieve them.
- Responsible to see that the Service Sector team member follows all OSHA guidelines. Ensures that the Service Sector are following all Michelin cardinal rules, hold sector’s people accountable.
- Create and support standard work procedures and training practices as established by the department and endorsed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Develop and update individual employee training tracking through use of a Maintenance Training Plan.
- Coordinate improvement activities for the Maintenance Department.
- Inspects the work of maintenance team members and contractors to ensure the work meets specifications and standards to ensure machinery and tools are properly maintained and provide a safe environment for all employees.
- Support Operations, QA and Engineering in problem troubleshooting and procedure review.
- Develop and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve Service Sector’s KPIs, Maintenance Department KPIs, and overall plant operational KPI’s. Generates accurate Service Sector’s KPIs, trend charts, and monitors deviations, alerting the Maintenance Manager to performance changes. Assists in formulation of action plans to address declining performance, makes contributions to improve performance. Acts with appropriate urgency when KPIs are under-performing to target.
- Inventories and may order supplies, equipment, and materials for projects, including determining appropriate supplies and materials and locating vendors; may provide input into budget requests in areas of assignment. Duties conducted in collaboration with Purchasing Coordinator and Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain files in a neat and orderly fashion on the network system.
- Maintains the maintenance crib and help create the Kan Ban levels needs for spare parts. Satisfies the 5S requirements of the Maintenance Manager and accepts overall responsibility for the 5S of Service Sector areas and jobs.

- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an associate degree in a technical field or technical trade school preferred.
- 5-7 years related manufacturing setting maintenance experience.
- Must be eligible for international travel to Canada.
- Demonstrated leadership skills required, 2-4 years of supervision experience desired.
- Demonstrate proficiency in day-to-day responsibilities of the position.
- Demonstrated experience in ordering supplies, materials, equipment for day-to-day needs as well as projects.
- Demonstrated experience in steam hydraulics, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Strong competency in problem solving methods and skills.
- Highly skilled in time management.
- Highly organized, self-motivated , autonomous and collaborator.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid computer skills including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and inventory/ordering systems.
- Effective communication skills with peers, management, employees, customers, and vendors.
- Initiative-taking; takes initiative and works with a minimum of supervision.
- Collaborator: works cooperatively with others to solve problems and willingly helps others when assistance is needed.
