Leading his/her team to deliver a model that meets technical and industrial targets and satisfies the manufacturing partners over time, by implementing the responsibility and continuous development of industrializers (Materials, Processes, Measurements, etc...) and by managing the "Local Evolution Control" process.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Michelin has an immediate opportunity at our American Synthetic Rubber Company (ASRC) chemical plant in Louisville, KY for a Process Definition Manager to help manage and control the production process in a high paced, dynamic, operational facility.   This position aligns directly with Michelin’s core values on creating a quality product that delivers value to its customers. WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Implements the rules and standards of the Michelin Group Leadership model in an exemplary manner
  • Manage the development and performance of a team of engineers
  • Must have Technical knowledge of Petro Chemical manufacturing/processing
  • Communicates and adheres to the vision, progress dynamics and commitments of the Process Safety Managed (PSM) petro chemical site activity.
  • Promotes constant, effective collaboration between site leadership, support teams, and within the direct team
  • Creates the conditions for accountability with clear expectations within the team. Incarnates and brings about change through the Management of Change process.
  • Captures each project/change request or need guaranteeing standards are followed for impacts on Products, Materials, Processes, Methods, and Measurements.  Manages the associated project portfolio defined as the "Local Evolution Control" process. Arbitrate, if necessary, the balance of resources/capacity.
  • For each project of their portfolio, manage and/or as a referent, guarantees the validation requirements for the Quality Planning approach.
  • Contributes to the weekly, monthly and annual monitoring of the performance of the site
  • As a Method referent, leads or participates in advanced analyses and Quality/problem solving tools (FMEA, Audit, ADEQUA...) while collaborating with impacted partners.
  • Leads new product industrializations
  • Participates in operational networks of business lines, performance, progress across international and domestic time zones

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and process/product relationship knowledge.
  • B.S. degree in scientific field and 5-10 years’ experience in process engineering or quality control manufacturing environment. (Chemical Engineering or other Engineering fields preferred)
  • Technical management a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
  • Familiarity with quality protocols and controls in a chemical environment.
  • Attention to detail, data accuracy.
