The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Editorial (North America) for the MICHELIN Guide, our Senior Editor will be responsible for creating and producing high-quality editorial content that builds and retains an engaged audience over time.
You’ll be part of the Global Editorial Team, which develops strategy in tandem with the MICHELIN Guide Selection Team, Tablet Hotels Team, and regional sales team in delivering on collective business objectives: Growing our community of users, driving hotel booking revenues, and delivering sponsored content for our partners.
Based in New York City, this role plays an integral part in adapting the MICHELIN Guide’s global strategy to the Americas. The Editorial team helps design and deliver effective content for our target audiences across Canada, USA, and Mexico.
What You Will Do
This is a hands-on role requiring extensive experience editing, writing, and developing multi-platform editorial content for audiences across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The day-to-day involves sourcing, assigning, editing, writing, and producing on-brand culinary and travel articles for the MICHELIN Guide website, mobile apps, newsletter, and other digital platforms.
In addition, we are pivotal in developing branded content and sponsored articles for our B2B and B2A partners through support of the regional sales and marketing teams, including assisting with content production for MICHELIN Guide ceremonies.
Responsibilities include:
• Ensuring a high standard of editorial values and integrity for the MICHELIN Guide’s written materials and website for North America and ensure consistency whatever the production process: in-house or outsourced.
• Ensuring that all creative output is derived through conceptual thinking based on a deep understanding of editorial, brand, and marketing principles and agreed objectives.
• Editing articles written by both in-house and freelance contributors, including substantive editing, copyediting, and proofing.
• Facilitating freelance collaborations and delivering project outputs. This includes assigning articles, writing outlines and briefs, guiding drafts through the editorial process, and handling contracts and payments on time.
• Writing and updating articles based on new MICHELIN Guide Selections.
• Overseeing production schedules for editorial and sponsored content.
• Building and updating articles in the CMS as needed, ensuring that multimedia assets are delivered and implemented, and supplying the CRM and social media teams with evocative copy and headlines for newsletters and social posts.
• Production optimization: resource allocation, cost efficiency, and delivery timeline
What You Will Bring
5 years of demonstrated experience in editorial, content marketing, and digital content creation
Experience engaging and retaining aspirational, high-end, and luxury audiences – especially those passionate about gastronomy and exploration – over time with high-quality content (not click-bait)
Experience in sourcing content and coordinating freelance relationships and deliverables
Experience working with international teams
Strong sense of confidentiality is required
Hybrid work schedule
Starting pay range of $105k-$115k
