Procurement Assistant Manager - Asset Purchases

MISSION:
You will lead the plant service procurement operation in all sites in Sri Lanka operation, aligning with set sourcing strategies considering the total cost of acquisition, quality and reliability of the supply. Also, you have the opportunity to manage  the service contract portfolio on plant maintenance, production, employee welfare and administrative services, effectively and efficiently. You will also be expected to initiate and establish necessary strategies, and processes and procedures for service function along with the co-teammates in order to meet the objectives while adding value and improve the service level to the plants. 

You will be fully empowered to develop a competent plant buyer team on plant services while developing your competencies in sourcing, negotiation, and decision-making in order to grow your career in procurement and supply chain.

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Ensure the team to handle end-to-end (E2E) procurement activities with respect to plant services and jobs complying with company procurement policy, and procedures.

• Initiate standardization, rationalization, and streamlining of service function, to launch efficient operation, in order to improve the service levels to respective stakeholders.

• Liaise with relevant stakes at the plants/divisions to launch proper RFQs on recurrent services, aligning with the standards in the company to formalize service contracts.

• Put an effective contract renewal process in place and execute such renewals before the expiry of the contract and maintain the repository of those contracts.

• Work with Global sourcing teams to align with Global strategies, and in turn, make use of synergies to obtain cost benefits, and/or operational excellence. 

• Comply with corporate governance, business ethics and regulatory obligations and ensure the service providers/ contractors are also complied wherever applicable.

• Explore prospective service providers/ contractors where existing panel is not competitive in offers to establish a supplier base with proper categorization, and carry out an evaluation, with a proper feedback system to develop them to an optimum.

• Ensure that the system (SAP) features are adequately and accurately followed by the team and liaise with relevant IT for configurations wherever necessary. 

• Maintain the service master and implement respective features in line with service master, while ensuring the awareness of the service master functionality for plant teams, in order to raise their requests by making use of same.
