Site Environmental Manager (Experienced Level Professional)

MISSION: 

-Assist the EHS manager to guarantee the control of compliance with the regulations and internal requirements applicable in the Environment on its site.

-Assist the operational level to identify and control environmental risks on its site.

-Ensure the accurate application and effectiveness of the site's EHS Management System on the environment.

-Expected to lead projects to drive progress in reducing environmental footprint

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
• External and internal regulations are identified. Gap analysis and relevant action plans are proposed :
An analysis of applicability and compliance is carried out; the corrective action plans are defined and ran to fill the gaps.
The site instructions based on the requirements are described, easily accessible to those who have to use them; a control of their implementation is in place.
A system for checking the level of compliance of the site or activity to these requirements is in place, and regularly updated. Regulatory risk mapping is in place.
• The site has relevant environmental risk and impact analyses, regularly updated, using the company methods. A process is implemented to prevent and control environmental risks and impacts to an acceptable level, including in emergency situations.
Support and expertise is provided to the operational functions of the site to assess and prioritize risk appropriately and choose the right control options.
On the management of changes or interventions (new materials, products, investments, projects, works) the environmental issues are validated at the various landmarks and in prevention plans.
A risk level control process is in place, regularly updated, including emergency situations. A risk mapping is in place.
• The environmental management system is in place, operational and reliable. The continuous improvement requested by the system is ensured :
The required EMS documents, procedures and instructions to align with the regulations and internal requirements are active. A control of their implementation is in place.
The performance of the processes in the environmental domain is evaluated and the progress opportunities are identified.
The various audits, internal controls, self-assessments and expertises applicable to the environment domain (water, air, soil, waste, noise) are coordinated and the resulting action plans are led.
The external certifications requested by the company, customers or administrations are maintained.
• In case of a serious event (Environmental anomaly), the impacts on the environment are minimized by the emergency responses which are required. The appropriate internal functions are informed (external authorities if necessary). The consequences are analyzed and the root causes identified. The probability of re-occurrence is reduced.
• In relation with risk mapping, the environmental impact analysis, the results of the controls and audits, the relevant and reliable indicators are in place and communicated.
• By developing its expertise on the environment domain, technical support is provided:
To the operational staff on root cause analysis and experience feedback from environmental incidents, the definition of operational control, emergency, verification and maintenance procedures.
In the organization and / or realization of relevant environmental training to maintain the staff competence.
In relations with the social partners and external organizations (authorities, associations ...)
• In order capitalize from the experience, the significant practices and events of the site are shared through the company / Environmental Network. Likewise, practices from other sites are analyzed and implemented if appropriate.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Environmental qualification from a higher education institution (university level) desired

- Environmental certifications are a plus

- 3+ years of production experience may be considered
