The opportunity

As a Software Engineer at Michelin in Spartanburg, South Carolina, you will have the unique opportunity to design, develop, and industrialize software solutions and applications that support Michelin's ambitious goals. What will you do

  • Design and develop high-quality and secure solutions: You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying solutions that meet both the software and non-functional requirements. Your work will create business value, provide a great user experience, and be easy to maintain and operate. Your expertise will ensure applications stability, scalability, performance, security, and consistency.
  • Collaborate on global solution implementation: You will play a key role in functional testing, documentation, communication, and training for solutions developed in other countries. Your collaboration will be critical in successfully implementing these solutions.
  • Maintain and optimize working solutions: You will evaluate proposed changes, make improvement recommendations, and implement approved changes to maintain and optimize the working solutions. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will ensure the flawless operation of our software applications.

What will you bring

  • Willingness to go above and beyond: You should be willing and able to provide on-call support or deployment work outside of normal work hours and weekends, as needed. Your dedication and commitment to delivering exceptional results will set you apart.
  • Strong technical background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required. Additionally, formal training or documented experience in programming/coding languages like HTML5, C#, O365 Power Platform, and JavaScript is preferred. Your technical expertise will be invaluable in developing robust solutions.
  • Collaboration skills: You should have a proven track record of working effectively with colleagues to gather requirements and convert them into practical functional specifications. Your ability to collaborate will ensure that our solutions align with the needs of both our internal and external business partners.
  • Agile and Lean values: You should embody daily Agile and Lean values such as cooperation, transparency, courage, and humility. Your commitment to teamwork will contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Manufacturing experience (bonus): Prior experience in supporting Information Systems (IS) operations in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Your familiarity with the unique challenges of the manufacturing industry will be an asset in this role.
